What we use today

We set no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. There is nothing here following you around. The only thing we may store in your browser is your own cookie preference, so we do not ask twice — that one is strictly necessary and needs no consent.

How we count readers without cookies

We do want to know which stories are useful, so we use Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless by design: it counts page views and visits without storing anything in your browser, without collecting personal data, and without following you to other websites. That is why you are not asked to consent to it — there is nothing stored on your device to consent to, and nothing about you being collected.

What might change

If we ever add advertising, or any tool that does use tracking cookies, those will be off until you turn them on. The banner will ask, "no" will be exactly as easy to click as "yes", and saying no will not degrade the site in any way. We will update this page before any of that goes live.

Changing your mind

You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings. Doing so simply means we will ask your preference again next time.
